“A hot summer begins, and with it – no fewer hot pitches. This time we will see nine startups at once at the pre-seed stage, which is a kind of record. So many startups at this stage and in one place have not yet met”, said Director of the Ukrainian Startup Fund Pavlo Kartashov.
The seventh Pitch Day was attended by startups at the pre-seed stage, applying for grant funding of $25,000 each.
Ukrainian Startup Fund is a state fund founded on the initiative of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. The mission of the fund is to promote the creation and development of technology startups at the early stages (pre-seed and seed), in order to increase their global competitiveness. The process of selecting startups for granting takes place on a competitive basis: companies are evaluated and selected by a council of independent investment experts.
The fund began selecting startups from the beginning of 2020 and constantly accepts and evaluates applications from Ukrainian startups. Pitch Days are regular events from the Ukrainian Startup Fund that encourage innovative companies and individual specialists, developers to receive funds to implement their ideas.
As of the beginning of summer 2020, more than 1400 applications were sent to the Ukrainian Startup Fund, and Pocket IP became one of several dozen invited to participate in Pitch Day.
